Bruce Smith spent time at Dismas House during 2002, after being released from prison. He attended 12-step meetings, and was allowed to hold one at Dismas on a regular basis.
From December 2006 to October 2007, Mary found a family to support her at Dismas House of Michiana. Before Dismas, drugs prevented Mary from being a good parent and eventually led to her arrest.
Joseph Armstrong was in prison for five years, coming to Dismas House in 2000 for six months. “The most important thing I learned at Dismas House was that you need a good solid family structure as your foundation for success.
Regina Perkins learned about being a better person at Dismas House. "It totally changed my attitude." After serving 28 months in prison, Regina lived at Dismas House for seven months. During her stay, she learned the importance of getting along with persons from all races and levels of society.
